Publishing paths, choose by outcome

Your book. Your next step. A clear publishing plan.

Start with where your book is today. Then explore the support, the costs and the people involved, with room to ask questions before you choose.

The paths describe stages of work. The four publishing plans describe different scopes within publishing.

Before you choose

Questions writers/authors usually ask.

Publishing costs and packages: your questions.

Which publishing plan should I choose?

Start with manuscript readiness, editing needs, intended formats and launch goals. Compare the inclusions, then ask us to confirm the smallest scope that covers the work you need.

Do I need a finished manuscript?

You can begin with an idea or draft. If the manuscript needs substantial writing or restructuring, discuss the Shape path before choosing a production plan.

How do the three paths relate to the four packages?

Shape, Publish and Grow describe stages. Prime, Essential, Pro and Elite are publishing plans with different inclusions. Your proposal can connect stages when the book needs them.

What decides the final cost?

Word count, editing depth, design complexity, formats, copies, marketing work and taxes can affect the total. Ask for an itemised proposal, including anything outside the listed plan.

Can I combine two paths?

Yes. A project may need shaping before publishing, or a marketing plan after release. Confirm the combined scope so the same work is not charged twice.

Is GST included in these prices?

No. The displayed package prices exclude GST. Ask for the applicable tax (18%) and final payable amount in your quotation.

Is editing included in every plan?

Editing inclusions differ. The current Pro summary includes copyediting up to 30,000 words; Elite includes substantive editing up to 30,000 words. Confirm what your manuscript needs and any additional cost in writing.

Does the advertising fee include ad spend?

Yes, setup and management is included. Ask for the campaign fee and media budget to be stated separately, including who manages the account and how results are reported. The final proposal should make the allocation clear.

Who will I speak to after payment?

Your Publishing Expert coordinates delivery once the project is handed over. Confirm the contact, update rhythm and escalation route during onboarding.

How long will my book take?

The timeline follows the manuscript and scope. Editing, revisions, design, author approvals and platform steps all take time. Agree on milestones before you begin.

Can you guarantee book sales or reviews?

Sales and returns cannot be guaranteed. Any review support should seek independent feedback, with no promise of positive ratings. Ask what outreach or deliverables are included.

What about rights, royalties, refunds and exit terms?

These belong in your agreement. You hold 100% copyrights. Ask how rights are licensed, how earnings are calculated and paid, what happens to files and listings, and which cancellation terms apply.

Still confused?

Bring the book. We’ll help you think it through.

Tell us what you have, what you hope for and what you can comfortably plan for. We can take the questions one at a time.
